Senior Investment Professional

Position Description

The firm seeks to augment its future leadership by hiring one, and possibly two, partner-track investment professionals. Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years of investment experience, ideally in the field of endowment management, as well as an appreciation for the capital markets, a passion for investing, and a deep commitment to mission-based institutions. Edgehill takes a generalist approach to investing, so candidates who are specialists must be excited to work across all asset classes and strategies. All members of the investment team at Edgehill participate in weekly investment committee meetings where they are expected to engage, debate, defend and challenge ideas in the pursuit of investment excellence on behalf of Edgehill’s clients.

In addition to performing investment research, senior members of the investment team meet with the leadership of Edgehill’s clients periodically. Individuals will also monitor client portfolios, including the evaluation of portfolio objectives, risk parameters, performance benchmarks and asset allocation.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the confidence to work independently as well as part of a team, and exemplifies many of the following characteristics:

  • Demonstrated success and track record in sourcing, vetting and selecting managers at an endowment, foundation, pension fund, fund-of-funds, asset management or investment consulting firm. We seek individuals who exhibit creativity, independent thinking, a willingness to challenge the status quo, and the contrarian mindset to invest in complex and out-of-favor strategies
  • Profound understanding of asset allocation and spending policy, including using and interpreting Monte Carlo simulations and other quantitative tools related to portfolio construction. All of Edgehill’s clients are heavily reliant on their endowment to support its mission, so it is critical for a candidate to appreciate the challenge of maintaining purchasing power net of spending
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and strong presentation skills
  • Collegial team member. Work effectively in a small team, collaborate closely with junior and senior members in investments and operations, contribute to the enrichment and success of the firm broadly, be physically present in the New Haven office as a home base
  • The ability to travel frequently, both domestically and abroad, to conduct investment research and build an independent network of global relationships
  • B.A. or B.S. with a strong preference for an advanced degree such as an M.B.A., M.A. in a related field, J.D. or a CFA
  • 10 or more years of investment related work experience

How to apply:

Candidates should submit a cover letter explaining their interest and qualifications, and a resume, to hr@edgehillendowment.com. Edgehill’s review of applications is ongoing and will continue until the position(s) is filled. Edgehill is an equal opportunity employer.
