Nina is the co-founder and managing partner of Edgehill Endowment Partners. She leads the firm and is responsible for investing client portfolios. Nina has a track record of leadership and success over 30+ years working on behalf of endowed institutions.

Prior to co-founding Edgehill in 2013, Nina was Deputy Chief Investment Officer of The Investment Fund for Foundations (“TIFF”) where she established and led the hedge fund program, the Absolute Return Pools, which she grew to $2.8 billion with 230 clients. She served TIFF’s clients for 13 years and operated within a rigorous compliance framework. Before TIFF, Nina served as a Managing Director at Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) for 10 years, where she established its private investment program, developed an investment team, and grew HHMI’s private assets to $1.2 billion.  She began her career with two Wall Street firms, Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb and Alex. Brown & Sons, with roles in institutional equity research and investment banking.  

Nina currently serves as a trustee of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation.  She has served on the boards and investment committees of colleges, foundations, and independent schools. She served Smith College for 21 years as a trustee, finance committee chair, and investment committee member. She served as a trustee of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO) for 9 years. Nina received a B.A. from Smith College and an M.B.A. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jason is a partner and is responsible for investing client portfolios, leading the research team and process. Over his career, Jason has been a key part of actively building out top tier investment offices. Prior to joining Edgehill, Jason served as the Chief Investment Officer at Choate Rosemary Hall. At Choate, he made substantial changes to the asset allocation, restructured the school’s public equity portfolio, continued the build out of its private equity portfolio and initiated a venture capital program. During his tenure, Choate’s endowment produced top quartile returns in back-to-back years for the first time in the school’s history which was driven by outperformance in the public equity and hedge fund portfolios.

Prior to Choate, Jason served as Senior Manager of Pension Investments at Eastman Kodak, one of the most sophisticated corporate pension plans in the country. While at Kodak, he was one of two investment professionals who oversaw $5 billion in defined benefit pension assets worldwide. He was a key component of re-starting the investment program after the company emerged from bankruptcy.

Before Kodak, Jason served as Associate Director at Wesleyan University’s Investment Office where he was trained and mentored in the endowment model style of investing by Wesleyan’s CIO. This training was critical in developing Jason’s investment process and philosophy. While at Wesleyan he worked across all asset classes and geographies and traveled extensively in emerging markets, helping to rebuild the schools’ investment program which has become one of the top performing in the country. Prior to Wesleyan University, Jason was a Senior Research Analyst at Fund Evaluation Group where he helped launch the firm’s long-short equity hedge fund of funds.

Jason graduated from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Economics. He was a Varsity Letterman on the football team, earning Special Teams Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-Ivy awards. He was included on CIO Magazine’s Class of 2017 Forty Under Forty list. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Andrew Mastroe is a member of the Edgehill Investment team working across all asset classes.  Prior to Edgehill, Andy served in the Boston Children’s Hospital Investment Office as a Senior Investment Analyst working with all asset classes in the $5.5 billion portfolio.  Earlier in his career, Andy was an investment analyst at the College of Holy Cross Investment Office and a Senior Consulting Associate at Cambridge Associates. He received his BBA from the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in Management and Entrepreneurship. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Brian is the Director of Risk and Analytics where his expertise spans both investments and operations. Prior to Edgehill, Mr. Morgan spent eight years serving Choate Rosemary Hall in capacities as Investment Director & Operations Manager. Earlier in his career, he gained substantial investment operations experience as a Mutual Fund Operations Administrator at Skandia Global Funds, where he was responsible for performance reviews and had extensive engagement in IT projects. Brian received his B.S. from Central Connecticut State University, where he focused his studies on Finance. He earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
Drew Woodbury

Drew Woodbury is a Managing Director on the Investment team working on all aspects of portfolio management across all Edgehill clients.  He joined Edgehill after nearly eight years at Grosvenor, an alternative investment firm with approximately $50 billion in assets under management. At Grosvenor, he was a Principal and was responsible for leading a team that evaluated investments with external public equity and hedge fund managers.  Earlier in his career, Drew was an equity analyst at Morningstar where he developed and presented fundamental research and investment recommendations to institutional clients. While at Morningstar, he was twice ranked in The Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" survey, which annually evaluated and ranks the top three analysts in each coverage sector based on the performance of their stock recommendations.  Drew received his A.B. in Economics from Princeton University.  He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Melina Castro

Investment Research Analyst

Melina is a Research Analyst on the Investment team.  She first joined Edgehill as an Operations Intern during her undergraduate career.  Melina was part of Quinnipiac University's highly competitive 3 + 1 BS/MBA program and earned her B.S. in Finance and graduated with her M.B.A. in May 2022.  Her experience as an intern for the Operations team has given her exposure to the day-to-day responsibilities and processes at Edgehill.  Joining the Investment team, Melina will work with analytics systems, updating and tracking marketable manager portfolio exposures, as well as providing support on a variety of other investment projects.
Tara Merlone

Tara has a comprehensive role in all aspects of investment operations entailed in providing endowment management for clients.  Prior to joining Edgehill, Tara was an Assistant Vice President of Operations at Basso Capital Management, a hedge fund, where she worked supporting traders and portfolio managers with their operational needs including over-the-counter trade affirmations, settlements, and confirmations, collateral management, and wire activity. Tara began her career at International Fund Services (IFS), a third-party fund administrator, where she was a Supervisor of Middle Office Operations and serviced various multi-strategy investment management firms. Tara’s fifteen years of experience in trade support and operations roles have provided her with extensive knowledge in treasury and cash management, portfolio reconciliations, performance reporting, and operational due diligence. Tara graduated summa cum laude from Fairfield University where she received a B.S. in Finance and M.B.A. in International Business.

At Edgehill, Christian has a comprehensive role in all aspects of investment operations entailed in providing endowment management to clients. Prior to joining Edgehill, Christian served as the Interim Director of Operations at the Smithsonian Institution, where he was responsible for all operational aspects of the investment portfolio.  Prior to Smithsonian, Christian spent seven years at Lone Pine Capital.  As a part of a two-member team, he was responsible for managing the investment, operational and business development functions of Lone Juniper, an equity-oriented fund of hedge funds with a global mandate. Christian spent the seven years prior to Lone Pine as a Senior Financial Analyst at Corbin Capital Partners, where he had responsibilities in accounting, operations, and operational due diligence for a multi-strategy fund of hedge funds.  He began his career with Ernst & Young as a Senior Auditor. Christian currently serves on the Board and Investment Committee of Archbishop Molloy High School. Christian graduated magna cum laude from Fairfield University with a B.S. in Accounting.  He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Ken works closely with each client’s finance or treasury staff and coordinates with Edgehill’s fund administrator to ensure accurate investment accounting and investment performance reporting. Ken also is responsible for Edgehill’s business management functions. Ken is a Certified Public Accountant and managed an independent practice for nearly 30 years, undertaking accounting, tax preparation, financial statement preparation, and financial planning for mid-size businesses, start-up companies and individuals. For five years he was an SEC Registered Investment Adviser. Prior to establishing an independent practice, he was an auditor with Deloitte. He received a B.S. in Accounting from NYU and an M.B.A. from Southern Connecticut State University.
Christin Sandweiss

Christin Sandweiss

Director of Client Services

Prior to joining Edgehill, Christin had a career of managing relationships and leading detail-oriented operations. She headed the Inaugural Office for the 2013 Inauguration of Yale President, Peter Salovey. Christin was the Director of Development and Communications for the Yale-China Association during the 50th anniversary of a collaborative program with New Asia College at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Christin worked for a decade in Yale University’s Office of Development, culminating her tenure as a Senior Major Gifts Officer with a focus on developing women Major Gift prospects. She serves on the board of the New Haven Lawn Club Preservation Trust and formerly served on the boards of the Friends Center for Children, the Neighborhood Music School and The Mory’s Association. She was a member of the operational group during the relaunch of Mory’s in 2010. She received her B.A. in Anthropology from Vanderbilt University.

Liam is a Senior Analyst on the Edgehill Operations team and supports performance reporting, treasury services, document management, data maintenance, and compliance. Prior to joining Edgehill, Liam spent over four years at Cambridge Associates in their Arlington, VA office where he held several performance reporting roles servicing institutional and private investors with monthly and quarterly performance reports. Liam was Senior Investment Performance Analyst and developed expertise in custom benchmarking tools and performance reporting methodologies. Liam received his B.A. from Allegheny College, where he focused his studies on Economics.
